If you are not going to try the Windows Vista procedure for you motherboard, I can’t provide any more help. I’d be surprised if the Realtek sound chip has gone bad, but if so, there is always the option of a PCI sound card. You can use the drivers on the site directly, or use the list to see which things sat2a updating and go directly to the source to update each.
I would check the manual of the Logitech to be sure it is connected correctly. I’ve personally never used a 5 way audio system but know there are configurations inside bios and windows for that.
